Music today tends to try to fit certain stereotypes, and only certain people listen to it. When I hear classic rock or just old music even before that, when it was way classical music I realize how much talent these people had. Music now inside their stereotypes all tend to sound the same, or similar, even within their own albums. It seems to be harder to tell certain song from another. It seems that once you've heard a song you've heard it and you can't really listen to it over and over and over. Only because you can listen to another band with another song with the exact same meaning. Bands today tend to be overly repetitive and not just the lyrics but also the drums and the bass and all the other parts to it too. But when you listen to Led Zeppelin you can hear the difference in every song it's rare that you hear a song that sounds the same. Yeah maybe you did have a song with a similar meaning but the lyrics weren't the same nor was anything else. It gets kind of depressing why can't they make it with a true meaning. I mean yes of course you get the occasional good band or solo artist, but honestly sit there one day and compare.

I completely agree with you on that one. I too have been noticing that people with absolutely no talent at all are making it in the music industry. This band sounds like that band, rappers are rapping about the same subjects, and I honestly can't tell one country star from another. ( I really can't stand country music.) I get the impression from you're post that you like rock, (me too.) so I reccomend The White Stripes. They're really unique and they're on of my favorites. I also reccomend Beck, kind of a rock/rap mixture, kind of wierd, but really cool at the same time. The Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Amy Winehouse, The Fratellis, and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs are all really different and original too.

Not ALL music is the same. Yes they sound the same, yes they all have the "same" meaning, but every song isn't the same. They are SIMILAR.  Everybody has their own meaning to the song. But the meaning that means the most is from the person who is singing the song. There are stereotypes on the music these days, but it's because people are inconsiderate and judge the band/song writer/lyrics/etc. on what there first impression of it. If you actually listen to the words, you would get it, the meaning, the moral, and how the singer feels. I myself, is a member of the scene culture. I listen to Silverstien, Bullet For My Valentine, fall out boy, flyleaf, the almost, rise against, cute is what we aim for, cobra starship, gym class heros, the red jumpsuit aparatus, hellogoodbye, madina lake, my chemicle romance, panic at the disco, plain white t's, relient k, shiny toy guns, 30 seconds to mars,  taking back sunday, +44, hinder, hawthorne heights, halifax, good charolette, the fretelies, foo fighters, boys like girls, all american rejects, AFI, the acdamy is..., etc. just to name a few. So that's what I have to say to that.

I agree, most songs nowadays are about sex and sound the same-and everyone loves them. My friends seem to pick some good music though. :0

I myself have an obsession with Linkin Park.
