| | | | | So, my girlfriend smokes, and i don't. At first I thought it was cool and kind of hot, but we've been together a while now, and it's starting to gross me out. She always smells like cigarettes, and when I kiss her it tastes gross. I don't want to break up with her, but I might have to. HELP! Does anyone have any advice? |
| | | | | Considering she probably hears how bad it is for her from people everyday, you don't want to seem like an enemy to her by nagging too. There are other ways you can talk to her about quitting. Does she know how you feel about her smoking? If not, then tell her gently. You can help her quit and be better about smoking, but breaking up with her when she needs your support and most importantly the help of the person she loves, won't help her. Good luck! |
| | | | | | The only person we can really change in this world is ourselves. She will smoke until she is ready to quit no matter what you do or say. Save yourself some stress and either accept that she smokes or find new non-smoking girlfriend. |
| | | | | gently reminder that smoking is not good for her and it is in no way cool or sexy to smoke. talk to a counseler at your school or another trusted adult about helping her quit. she may get mad at you but you should not have to just stand there and watch her kill herself. you CAN make a difference! also whatever you do DONT LET HER CONVINCE U TO SMOKE! |

i do not belive this is true! our actions can make a big difference in someones life! your words are powerful so speak out and be heard! |
| | | | | | some of you guys are so pathetic. if you love her, tell her. She's slowly killing herself. ya, they say you can't change a person...but they're talking about like....talking too much or other other annoyances they may have. If she was controlling, you couldn't change her. If she was loud and wild, you couldn't change her. Some people are attracted to peoples flaws, and if you're not then that person isn't right for you. That's why you're not supposed to try to change someone. But smoking isn't just a little natural flaw. It's not genetic. It's an unhealthy addiction. My ex-boyfriend smoked. We'd still be together if he hadn't moved. I'd known him before he started smoking and then after. He was an amazing guy turned helpless by an addiction. The ones telling you to leave her alone are the stubborn ones who smoke themselves. Trust me. Just tell her you love her and it hurts you to see the harm she's doing to her body. Simply ask if she wants to quit, tell her you'll help. If she says she doesn't then stick by her side. She'll come around eventually. ~~Mo~~ |
